Remote information disclosure via sample-pointer wraparound
Published Dec 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Android 12 Sonivox WT_Interpolate allows remote attackers to disclose data without user interaction. The routine advanced its sample pointer by the full phase increment but wrapped it only once at the loop boundary, permitting the next adjacent-sample fetch beyond the waveform buffer. Exploitation requires no privileges or user interaction, and the documented consequence is remote information disclosure only.
