CVE-2021-0947

Kernel heap disclosure via failed stream discovery

Published Aug 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Uninitialized memory disclosure in Android SoC PowerVR GPU drivers allows local users to read kernel heap data through stream discovery. PVRSRVBridgeTLDiscoverStreams copies puiStreamsInt to user space even when TLServerDiscoverStreamsKM fails and leaves the heap buffer uninitialized. No privileges are required, and the documented consequence is disclosure of residual kernel heap data rather than modification or service interruption.
