Kernel heap disclosure via failed buffer initialization
Published Aug 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in the PowerVR GPU kernel driver on Android SoC allows local users to read uninitialized kernel heap data. PVRSRVBridgePMRPDumpSymbolicAddr copies puiMemspaceNameInt to userspace even when PMR_PDumpSymbolicAddr fails without initializing it. Access requires code execution on an affected Android device, but no additional privileges or user interaction are required.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
