Remote information disclosure via NFC bounds check
Published Dec 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Google Cloud Android 12 System NFC code allows remote attackers to disclose information through crafted Type 4 Tag data. The rw_t4t_sm_detect_ndef state handler in rw_t4t.cc applies an incorrect bounds check while processing a mismatched NFC tag response, allowing data beyond the expected buffer to affect observable behavior. Exploitation requires no privileges or user interaction, and disclosure is limited to information inferred from that behavior change.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
