Permission bypass in MediaTek SRAMROM on Android 8.1 through 11.0 allows local users with System execution privileges to elevate privileges. The SRAMROM component assigns insecure permissions to a critical resource, allowing the caller to bypass the intended access restriction. Exploitation requires local code already running with System privileges, needs no user interaction, and the resulting privilege level is undisclosed.
