CVE-2021-0901

Local privilege escalation via unchecked integer bounds

Published Dec 17, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Integer overflow in MediaTek APUSYS on Android 10.0 through 12.0 allows local users with System privileges to gain elevated privileges. Within APUSYS, an integer overflow reaches memory handling without a required bounds check, producing memory corruption; no file or function is disclosed. Exploitation requires local System execution privileges but no user interaction, and the resulting privilege gain is limited to the affected device.
