Local privilege escalation via unchecked synchronization status size
Published Apr 19, 2023 · Updated Feb 6, 2025
Integer overflow in the PowerVR kernel driver for Android SoC allows local users to elevate privileges through out-of-bounds heap access. PVRSRVBridgeServerSyncGetStatus omits a size check, allowing an integer calculation to wrap and produce an out-of-bounds heap access. A low-privileged local user can trigger the flaw without user interaction and elevate privileges on the affected device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
