Application hang via excessive ellipsis iteration

Denial of service in Android Framework 8.1 through 11 allows local users to trigger an application-not-responding state via crafted text. The Layout.java ellipsize method loops across the full ellipsized character count even when only a small requested range is copied. Exploitation requires user interaction but no additional execution privileges, and the excessive iteration hangs the affected application.
