Local information disclosure via incorrect bounds check
Published Oct 25, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in MediaTek ASF Extractor on Android 10.0 and 11.0 allows local users to disclose data via crafted ASF content. An incorrect bounds check lets the extractor read beyond the intended buffer while parsing attacker-controlled ASF data. Exploitation requires local access but needs no added execution privileges or user interaction, and the consequence is limited to information disclosure.
