Guest privilege escalation via unrestricted Wi-Fi controls
Published Jul 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Privilege escalation in Google Cloud Android 10 and 11 allows local users in guest mode to view and modify every configured Wi-Fi network. WifiNetworkDetailsFragment.onCreateOptionsMenu exposes unrestricted Wi-Fi detail controls because it fails to apply the restricted presentation and actions required for guest users. Access to a guest session is required, but no further execution privilege or user interaction is needed to inspect or alter configured access-point settings.
