Local information disclosure via unchecked audio PID indexing
Published Jun 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Android 11 Media Framework allows local users with System privileges to disclose process memory without interaction. The TimeCheck::accessAudioHalPids() method indexes the audioHalPids collection without first verifying that the requested position is within bounds. Exploitation requires local code already running with System privileges; it discloses adjacent process memory but does not alter data or interrupt service.
