Local information disclosure via unchecked FLAC FIFO write
Published Jun 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Android 11 Media Framework allows local users to disclose process memory through a crafted FLAC encode operation. In stream_encoder.c, append_to_verify_fifo_interleaved_ continues filling the verification FIFO after the decoder reaches end of stream because processing does not stop at that boundary. A local malicious application needs no additional execution privileges or user interaction, and the reported consequence is information disclosure only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
