CVE-2021-0522Network attack vector

Remote information disclosure via dangling Bluetooth address

Published Jun 21, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Information disclosure in Android 9 through 11 allows remote attackers to read process memory through a crafted Bluetooth AVRCP exchange. ConnectionHandler::SdpCb retained a pointer to the peer Bluetooth address across an asynchronous SDP callback, allowing teardown to free the address before it was read; the fix passes the address by value. Bluetooth proximity and an exposed AVRCP service are required; exploitation needs no privileges or user interaction and discloses memory without modifying it.
