CVE-2021-0521Public exploit

Cross-user package disclosure via unchecked getAllPackages call

Published Jun 21, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Information disclosure in Android 8.1 through 11 allows local users to read cross-user package names through PackageManagerService. PackageManagerService exposes its hidden getAllPackages Binder transaction without checking the caller, so it returns package names across user and visibility boundaries. A locally installed application with ordinary execution privileges can invoke the transaction without user interaction and learn the device's full installed-package inventory.
