Information disclosure via incorrect VPN network selection
Published Jun 21, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in Android 11 ConnectivityService allows remote attackers to route networking tasks outside an active VPN. The updateCapabilities method misdetermines network state and biases task selection toward a non-VPN network. No privileges or user interaction are required, and exposed traffic can reveal data intended to remain inside the VPN path.
