Cross-profile screenshot disclosure via retained service context
Published Apr 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Race condition in ScreenshotHelper in Google Cloud Android 8.1 through 11 allows local users to read screenshots across profiles. ScreenshotHelper keeps its screenshot service alive when the active user changes, so an in-progress screenshot can be saved using the previous profile's context. Exploitation requires user interaction and a profile switch while the screenshot interface remains active; the consequence is limited to disclosure of the captured image.
