Information disclosure via out-of-bounds bitstream read
Published Mar 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Android 11's media framework allows remote attackers to disclose heap data through crafted MP3 input. The getNbits path in pvmp3_getbits.cpp reads side-information bits without first confirming that enough bytes remain in the input buffer. Exploitation requires user interaction with the crafted media; the reported consequence is information disclosure, not code execution or service interruption.
