FPC service interruption via show chassis pic race
Published Oct 19, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
A race condition in Junos OS Evolved before 20.1R2-EVO allows local users to crash picd on PTX10003 and PTX10008 routers. The show chassis pic command races with other system events outside the attacker's control, terminating picd on the FPC. View-level CLI access is required; repeated execution under precise timing can sustain the loss of FPC service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
