CVE-2021-0285Network attack vector

Sustained traffic loss via host-bound traffic flood

Published Jul 15, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Uncontrolled resource consumption in Juniper Networks Junos OS allows remote attackers to interrupt MC-LAG traffic with high-volume device traffic. On ICCP-configured QFX5000 and EX4600 switches, legitimate host-bound traffic exceeds the LOCALNH aggregate queue bandwidth and destabilizes the interchassis control connection. The attack requires sustained traffic destined to the device; ICCP interruptions can persist and cause traffic loss between MC-LAG nodes.
