Device shutdown via unchecked TCP/IP packet copy

Buffer overflow in the TCP/IP stack of Juniper Networks Junos OS allows remote attackers to shut down affected network devices. The stack copies data from specific packet sequences without checking that it fits the destination buffer, causing the kernel to crash and restart. Only packets addressed to the device trigger the flaw; transit traffic does not, and repeated sequences sustain the shutdown condition.
