Remote DoS via malformed BGP UPDATE
Published Jul 15, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Junos OS before the listed fixed releases allows remote attackers to cause routing-process crashes via a specific BGP UPDATE. The RPD daemon crashes and restarts when BGP Multipath or add-path processing handles the crafted update, and repeated receipt sustains the outage. Exploitation requires a reachable IBGP or EBGP peer and the affected feature enabled; devices without Multipath or add-path are not affected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
