A pointer-range flaw in BIOS firmware for the Intel Xeon Processor E3 v6 Family allows local users with privileged access to read protected data. The firmware returns a pointer value outside its expected range, but Intel has not disclosed the affected routine, controlling input, or exposed data. Exploitation requires privileged local access; Intel's assessment limits the consequence to confidentiality across a changed security scope.
