CVE-2021-0182

Information disclosure via unbounded register-state loading

Published Nov 17, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Uncontrolled resource consumption in Intel HAXM before 7.6.6 allows local users to disclose information through crafted virtual CPU state. The HAXM kernel driver fails to bound resource use while loading guest debug registers and model-specific registers. Exploitation requires local access and a high-complexity trigger; the documented consequence is information disclosure only.
