Local denial of service via installer signature verification
Published Nov 17, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper signature verification in Intel Wireless Bluetooth and Killer Bluetooth installers for Windows 10 allows authenticated users to trigger denial of service via local access. The installer accepts an improperly verified cryptographic signature, enabling a local authenticated user to invoke the vulnerable installation path and interrupt service. Exploitation requires local access and user interaction; Intel reports denial-of-service impact without confidentiality impact.
