Insecure inherited permissions in Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software before 22.40 allow local users to escalate privileges through the Windows 10 installer. The installer inherits unsafe permissions on an undisclosed critical resource; Intel has not identified that resource or the privileged operation exposed to modification. Exploitation requires local authenticated access, low privileges, high attack complexity, and interaction by another user, and successful exploitation grants elevated control over the host.
