CVE-2021-0009

Adjacent service interruption via firmware out-of-bounds read

Published Aug 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in Intel Ethernet 800 Series adapter firmware before 1.5.3.0 allows physically proximate attackers to interrupt service. Intel has not disclosed the firmware parser, input field, or missing bounds check that causes the out-of-bounds read. Exploitation requires adjacent-network access without authentication and can disrupt adapter availability, but Intel reports no confidentiality or integrity impact.
