Kernel code execution via state-management memory corruption
Published Jun 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Kernel memory corruption in Apple iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS allows local users to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges. A logic error in the kernel mishandles internal state and corrupts memory, but Apple has not disclosed the affected function, state transition, or incorrect operation. Exploitation requires execution of a malicious application; successful exploitation gives that application kernel-level control.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
