CVE-2020-9808

System crash or kernel-memory write via state corruption

Published Jun 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Memory corruption in the Apple kernel affects iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS and allows local users to crash the system or write kernel memory. A locally launched application reaches the flaw; Apple has not disclosed the faulty kernel routine or the state transition that corrupts memory. Affected releases precede iOS 13.5, macOS Catalina 10.15.5, tvOS 13.4.5, and watchOS 6.2.5; impact is limited to system termination or kernel-memory writes.
