Deleted-content disclosure via stale application previews
Published Apr 1, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Information disclosure in Mail on Apple iOS before 13.4 allows local users to view deleted content through the app switcher. Mail fails to clear its application-preview snapshot when content is deleted, leaving stale content rendered in the switcher. Exploitation requires local low-privilege access to the device and exposes only content retained in that preview.
