Unauthenticated code execution via metacontainer URI evaluation
Published Mar 4, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Server-side template injection in nystudio107 SEOmatic before 3.3.0 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted URI. The public metacontainers action passes the URI parameter into Twig rendering, where expressions can invoke craft.app.view.evaluateDynamicContent. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation runs commands with the web application's privileges.
