SYSTEM code execution via uncontrolled library search
Published Apr 16, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Insecure library loading in Adobe Genuine Service 6.6 and earlier allows local users with administrator rights to execute code as SYSTEM. AGSService.exe searches an uncontrolled library path and loads an attacker-planted binary instead of the intended library. Exploitation requires administrator privileges and user interaction before the planted binary runs with SYSTEM permissions.
