Code execution via MP4 structure overwrite
Published Jun 25, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in MP4 parsing in Adobe After Effects 17.1 and earlier allows attackers to execute code through a malicious file. The MP4 parser fails to validate user-supplied data before writing past the end of an allocated structure. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious MP4, and code runs in the current process under the target user account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
