CVE-2020-9618

Information disclosure via MOV parsing buffer over-read

Published Jun 25, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in Adobe Audition 13.0.5 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to disclose memory through a crafted MOV file. The MOV parser insufficiently validates user-controlled data and reads beyond the end of an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file; the standalone impact is sensitive-memory disclosure.
