Code execution via freed Field object
Published Jun 25, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Use-after-free in Adobe Acrobat and Reader 2020.006.20042 and earlier allows local users to execute code through crafted Field objects. Field object handling performs operations without first validating that the underlying object still exists, permitting reuse of freed memory. Exploitation requires low-privileged code execution on the target, and resulting code runs in the context of the current Acrobat or Reader process.
