Code execution via malformed SVG bounds error
Published Jun 25, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Memory corruption in Adobe Illustrator 24.1.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted SVG file. The SVG plug-in decodes malformed SVG data with an improper bounds check, causing out-of-bounds memory access. Exploitation requires the crafted file to be opened, after which code runs in the context of the current user.
