Cross-project resource manipulation via unscoped network lookup
Published Mar 12, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Authorization bypass in OpenStack Manila allows remote authenticated users to access and manipulate another project's share networks. The share-network database query used by the API looks up an attacker-supplied UUID without restricting the result to the authenticated project in 7.4.0 and earlier, 8.0.0 through 8.1.0, and 9.0.0 through 9.1.0. Possession of another project's share-network ID is required and enables viewing or modifying its networks and subnets, including creating shares and share groups.
