Stored script execution via unneutralized file metadata
Published Mar 26, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Piwigo 2.10.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser via the file parameter. The pwg.images.setInfo web-service method accepts a file value from a community user and stores it without neutralizing script markup before later rendering. A community account can supply the payload, and exploitation requires another user to view the affected image data, exposing that user's session-context data or actions.
