Spreadsheet formula execution via unneutralized account fields
Published Feb 28, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
CSV injection in Export Users to CSV 1.4.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute formulas through exported account data. The export path copies user-controlled account-detail fields into CSV cells without neutralizing formula-leading characters. Exploitation requires an administrator to export the user list and open it in a formula-evaluating spreadsheet, where the payload can redirect the administrator to an attacker-selected site.
