CVE-2020-9386Public exploitNetwork attack vector

File metadata disclosure via Elasticsearch access-filter bypass

Published Mar 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Incorrect access control in Mahara 18.10 before 18.10.5, 19.04 before 19.04.4, and 19.10 before 19.10.2 discloses file metadata. The Elasticsearch media-result filter returns artefacts from group-shared pages without enforcing the selected group-role access restriction. Elasticsearch must be enabled, and a remote authenticated group member can view metadata for an artefact restricted to another group role.
