Session hijacking via unchecked API tokens
Published Mar 5, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Session hijacking in HUMAX HGA12R-02 BRGCAA 1.1.53 allows remote attackers to read router secrets through unauthenticated API calls. The web interface's /api endpoint returns responses for some methods without validating the supplied session token, exposing IP addresses, SSID names, and passwords. Network reachability to the management interface is sufficient; the demonstrated consequence is disclosure of router and wireless configuration secrets without an authenticated session.
