CVE-2020-9362

Antivirus detection bypass via crafted ZIP GPFLAG

Published Feb 24, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Antivirus detection bypass in Quick Heal products with VDBs before 28 November 2019 allows attackers to conceal ZIP archive contents. The ZIP parser handles a crafted general-purpose flag so the archive remains accessible to an end user while the antivirus engine cannot scan it and returns a clean rating. Exploitation requires an end user to access the crafted archive, and the bounded consequence is failure to detect code or samples stored inside.
