Application crash via uninitialized pointer read
Published Feb 21, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Denial of service in SQLite 3.31.1 allows attackers to crash an application by executing a malicious SQL statement. The isAuxiliaryVtabOperator routine reads an uninitialized pointer while optimizing a generated-column query, causing a segmentation fault. Attackers must already be able to submit and run arbitrary SQL, and the demonstrated consequence is an application crash.
