Administrator account takeover via forged profile update
Published Feb 18, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in SOPlanning 1.45 allows remote attackers to change the administrator password through a crafted web form. The process/xajax_server.php endpoint accepts a submitFormProfil POST containing attacker-supplied ADM profile arguments, including a new password, without a request-specific anti-CSRF token. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to submit the form, after which the attacker can replace the administrator credential and take control of the account.
