CVE-2020-9061

Denial of service via malformed routing messages

Published Jan 7, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Denial of service in Z-Wave firmware for Silicon Labs 500 and 700 Series chipsets allows physically proximate attackers to crash devices. Public records identify malformed routing messages as the trigger but do not disclose the parser, malformed fields, or erroneous operation. An attacker must be within Z-Wave radio range, and successful exploitation interrupts the affected device rather than exposing or modifying data.
