Local system crash via crafted driver IOCTL
Published Feb 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Denial of service in Epson iProjection 2.30 and earlier allows local users to crash Windows via a crafted virtual-audio driver IOCTL. The EMP_NSAU.sys driver improperly handles user-controlled input submitted through IOCTL 0x9C402402, 0x9C402406, or 0x9C40240A. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and interrupts availability by triggering a Windows blue-screen crash.
