Database tampering via unchecked shipment notifications
Published Apr 11, 2023 · Updated Feb 11, 2025
Missing authorization in ShipStation.com plugin 1.1 and earlier for CS-Cart allows remote attackers to alter order data. The shipnotify action accepts unauthenticated query parameters and XML from php://input, then writes supplied tracking and shipment values to the database. Exploitation requires guessing an unshipped order number and permits modification of that order's tracking, quantity, and customer-note data.
