Stored XSS via unsanitized Tile widget input
Published Feb 25, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Blackboard Learn/PeopleTool 9.1 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through profile Tile widget fields. The People Tool profile editor stores unsanitized Tile widget input and renders it as active script on profile pages, hover cards, and discussion boards. An account that can edit its profile can plant JavaScript that executes when another user visits the profile or views the attacker's icon.
