Domain Administrator escalation via mutable role parameter
Published Sep 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Privilege escalation in iPortalis iCS 7.1.13.0 allows remote authenticated users to obtain Domain Administrator access. The server accepts a client-controlled UserRoleKey in an intercepted role-change request and honors COMPANY_ADMIN changed to DOMAIN_ADMIN without enforcing the account's authorized role. An existing account and the ability to intercept and modify its request are required; successful exploitation grants domain-wide administrative privileges.
