Search Console owner access via exposed connection key
Published Jul 7, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Sensitive information disclosure in Site Kit by Google 1.8.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to obtain its connection key. The admin_enqueue_scripts callback displays the key without checking the current user's capability. Any WordPress account can reach the affected administrative path, and the disclosed key grants owner access to the site's Google Search Console property.
