CVE-2020-8874

Hypervisor code execution via xHCI integer overflow

Published Mar 23, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Integer overflow in the xHCI component of Parallels Desktop 15.1.2-47123 allows local users to execute code in the hypervisor. The component fails to validate guest-supplied data, allowing an integer overflow before buffer allocation and corrupting the resulting allocation logic. Exploitation requires high-privileged code execution inside a guest system and crosses the guest boundary into the hypervisor context.
